Where it was thought that T'Challa or Queen Ramonda would greet Shuri in the Ancestral Plane, it was actually Killmonger who appeared to the new Black Panther in Wakanda Forever.

In the end, Shuri's interaction with Killmonger acts as more than just a highly-anticipated cameo. Finding Killmonger on the throne and hearing his violent point of view gives her the chance to confront her own emotions, no matter how dark they are.

During a subsequent duel with T'Challa, Killmonger is killed by Monica Rambeau, whom he previously captured and imprisoned. Killmonger's young son swears vengeance against Black Panther, much like N'Jadaka did years earlier after the death of his own father.

It is revealed that before he died, he fathered a child with Nakia, Toussaint, who is raised in Haiti by Nakia, as both agreed it would be best for him to grow up away from the pressure of living in Wakanda.
